Wait, how many times are you getting married?

At least twice.

Wedding #1: We are having a super small intimate ceremony at Miriam’s mom’s house in Arlington, MA on December 28th.

Wedding #2: We are planning a bigger to-do in Shenzhen, China in the Spring/Summer of 2021. Yes, that’s a solid year and a half after we get married in the U.S., but if you’re reading this, you’re probably invited, and we want to make sure we give all our loved ones stateside enough time to figure out if they can attend, request time off, consider expenses, apply for visas, etc. We will be posting additional details about Wedding #2 on this website as they arise!

In between it all: We love parties, and we love YOU, so we hope to have additional opportunities to celebrate in 2020 (because we know that some people just won’t be able to make it all the way to China - it’s wicked fah). Stay tuned!

When did you get engaged?

We planned the proposal in August 2019 on a trip to China with Miriam’s mom. We bought traditional Chinese qipao dresses within three hours of arriving, bought a beautiful engagement ring in Shanghai, and Han proposed at his birthday dinner in Shenzhen on August 21st. Miriam, Han, Han’s parents, and Miriam’s mom were all in on it, but Han’s high school friends at the dinner were all super surprised ;-)

Can we post about your wedding on social media?

Yes! Han and I aren’t posting too much about it just now for various reasons, but it’s not a secret and you are welcome to publicly embarass congratulate us if you want to!
